Vietnam to host International Rice Conference 2010

There will be over 1,500 representatives from Asia, Africa and America.

Dr. Zeigler highly commended Vietnam’s results in the field of rice cultivation and production over the past 20 years.

The conference will include the 28th international seminar on rice research, the 3rd global workshop on the rice trade, the 3rd international exhibition of rice growing technology and civilization, and the 50th anniversary of the IRRI’s establishment.

IRC 2010 will be an opportunity for agricultural scientists to share results of their research and the latest technology for rice cultivation and production. At the same time, representatives will call upon state and private organisations to support rice research and help farmers apply modern technology.

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Cao Duc Phat, said this is the first time Vietnam will host the IRC and the event will be a good opportunity for Vietnamese agricultural scientists and researchers to exchange their experience with others coming from different parts of the world.
